SUMMARY:Strobefest - 35 year Anniversary Party
DESCRIPTION:United Soul & Strobe Records proudly present: STROBEFEST 35 Year Anniversary Party\nThe Legacy of Toronto’s Underground Innovators\nfeaturing vocalists: \nMARCUS (Subculture) x PAUL KNIGHT x CHACH \nalongside:\nABACUS\nDJ Y O G I\nRON ALLEN\nDIRTY DALE \nNICK HOLDER\nDINO & TERRY\nJASON PALMA\nTYRONE SOLOMON \n$15 FLASH Sale Tickets\, More After.\n**celebrating 35 Years of Strobe Records \nBIO: \nStrobe Records is a legendary Canadian independent house music label\, co-founded in Toronto in 1991 by producers Ron Allen and Hayden Andre\, known for its influential\, soulful\, deep\, and percussive sound that defined early ’90s underground house\, featuring classic tracks from artists like Subculture\, Helen Sharpe\, and Hayden Andre\, and remains a respected name in house music culture today. \nFrom its earliest releases\, the label stood apart. Tracks like Subculture’s “The Voyage”\, Helen Sharpe’s “Got 2 Have Your Love\, and Hayden Andre Project’s “Tribal Life” were produced with remarkable depth\, clarity\, and emotional range—setting a new benchmark for the evolving deep house genre. Even today\, placing a Strobe 12” like Kingdom Come’s “Groovy Baby” on a turntable reveals the kind of loud\, punchy\, and well-balanced sound that still holds up against modern productions. \nThe Strobe sound was both futuristic and deeply rooted in musicality—defined by rich\, jazzy chord progressions\, spacious arrangements\, and percussive minimalism. Releases such as Infra-Red’s “Love Honey” and Transcendence’s “Concepts of Higher Dimension”explored both deep house and techno with equal finesse\, showcasing the versatility and visionary production skills of its founders. Ron Allen and Hayden Andre weren’t just producers—they were architects of a sound that would influence generations. \nRon Allen\, a JUNO-nominated producer\, DJ\, and songwriter\, has played a pivotal role in Canadian electronic music. Beyond Strobe\, his work has been released on globally recognized imprints such as Strictly Rhythm\, Plus 8\, Stickman\, Definive\, DNH\, Poker Flat\, Tresor\, Soul Candi\, Clone\, Rawax\, Crosstown Rebels\, and Defected. His ability to blend soulful melodies with driving rhythms has kept him a respected and in-demand force in the global scene. \nHayden Andre Brown brings a distinct musicality to Strobe’s foundation\, thanks to formal training in classical piano under Vietnamese pianist Chung Ngo and music theory studies with Humber College’s Cathy Mitro. A graduate of Fanshawe College’s Music Industry Arts program\, Hayden also attributes his growth and vision in the industry to his collaboration with Ron Allen and their shared work on Strobe. \nThe label also played a key role in launching the career of Toronto’s own Nick Holder\, whose debut release “Digital Age EP” in 1993 on Strobe marked a seminal crossover between house and techno. That release\, featuring the standout track “Erotic Illusions\,”remains a cult favorite and an important milestone in Holder’s discography. \nTo this day\, Strobe Records remains a cornerstone of deep house culture—revered by collectors\, respected by DJs\, and remembered as one of the true originators. Its legacy is not just in the records it released\, but in the sound it helped define.
