DESCRIPTION:A celebration of Irish music and dance in support of the St. Patrick’s Parade\nGet ready for an unforgettable evening in support of the St. Patrick’s Parade. Everyone is welcome whether you were born in Ireland\, have Irish ancestors or you’re just looking for a great time! \nDon’t forget to add-in some green as you dress to impress at this semi-formal event. A limited number of tickets are available for $100 ! \nThe Ball offers an opportunity to celebrate Jack Armstrong\, this year’s Grand Marshal. The legendary sports broadcaster is the son of Irish immigrants and very proud of his heritage. Jack began his career as a broadcaster with the Toronto Raptors in the fall of 1998. Since then\, his popularity has approached cult status as the sport’s popularity soared across the country. \nHugo Straney will be your host with the Graham Irish Dancers once again showcasing their amazing skills. Don’t forget to bring your own dancing shoes! The O’Deadlys will be playing all your favourite music along with some classic Celtic tunes. \nThere is no seated dinner. Food will be served on passed plates throughout the evening including vegetarian options. SUMMARY:A Tribute To A Tribute To Bruce Cockburn
DESCRIPTION:In honour of A Man Called Wrycraft\nNo\, “A Tribute To A Tribute To…” is not the typo you may think it is. This tribute to the iconic Canadian artist Bruce Cockburn is a long-overdue reprise of a previously scheduled Hugh’s Room Live concert curated by the late\, great\, Michael Wrycraft. We lost Michael in May of 2022. By “we”\, we mean the entire Canadian music industry and beyond. In addition to his multiple awards and nominations for his music artwork\, not mention his irrepressible personality\, Michael curated many shows for Hugh’s Room Live\, so the very least we could do was make sure this one happened. \nJoin us at Revival on March 9th for this musical tribute to one of Canada’s finest artists. As his own biography states: \nThroughout his career\, Cockburn has deftly captured the joy\, pain\, fear\, and faith of human experience in song. Whether singing about retreating to the country or going up against chaos\, tackling imperialist lies or embracing ecclesiastical truths\, he has always expressed a tough yet hopeful stance: to kick at the darkness till it bleeds daylight. “We can’t settle for things as they are\,” he once warned. “If you don’t tackle the problems\, they’re going to get worse.” \nFeatured musicians in this very special performance will include: Josh Finlayson & Andy Maze of the Skydiggers\, Don Ross\, Rebecca Campbell\, Michael Occhipinti with more to be announced soon.
